Hi all,
Things have been going well here and Phil is enjoying feeling good, getting his strength back, slowly, and likes that his immunities will now remain high enough that he can come and go as he pleases! That has also been helped by the story that I want to share with you about the "Miracle Scooter"!
Philip has been dreaming for a long time about getting one of those motorized scooters to get around town on. He had checked into buying a used one, after realizing the cost of a new one, but had eventually decided that it was out of the question. Just too expensive on his "budget"! He spotted those Razor scooters on the 4th of July, and immediately knew that he would enjoy one of those. We were with my parents for the day, and of course as all Grandparents do, they wanted to spoil Phil a bit! It wasn't but two days later, they showed up at our house with one of the razor scooters for Phil. (He had been planning on baby-sitting and giving piano lessons to raise the money for it). He was thrilled and thought he'd be all over town on it. Well, he'd get to the neighbor's house, and come back, get to the neighbor's house, and come back...sweating and tired, needing to rest. His mind said GO, but his body said NO! He knew it was going to take some time to build up his strength for the adventures he had planned. We didn't know that God had taken care of that! My mom had talked to my brother and mentioned the scooter they were going to get for Phil. My brother, Steve, immediately wanted to be a part of it, and started talking to others about it, but what happened was that they had totally mis-communicated what kind of scooter they were talking about. Steve knew that Phil wanted a motorized scooter and thought that's what my mom had been talking about, so when he called her back saying that friends and family wanted to donate towards the scooter also, she told him the scooter had already been bought and delivered. That's when they found out their "mistake"! But, the plan was in action!! God's plan! A man, Tom, who we have never met but had heard about the scooter idea for Phil, was walking up to a sports store last Monday morning and met another man going into the store with his Blue, electric scooter, brand new. He told the man that that was exactly what we were looking for for Phil and asked him where he had gotten it. The man told him that he was returning it because it was not what he wanted after all. He then proceeded to GIVE the scooter to Tom. WHAT?!!! My brother and sister-in-law called me and said "God just delivered the scooter!". WHAT?!! They explained to me what had happened, and made plans to drive up here on Saturday with Phil's new scooter! Needless to say, Phil is thrilled!! He is now able to get around town, see his friends, visit his cousins, and all on his own!! He can have the independence that all boys almost 15 years old should have, even if he doesn't have the energy on his own yet! We don't know Tom, and we don't know this man who donated the scooter, but we do know that God can not only move mountains, he can deliver scooters, and he can heal young boys, if that is His will.
Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Keep on praying! Love, Diane
